MEN TAKE STATE 10 MILE TITLE, AND SASCHA TAKES TOP BILLING WITH NATIONAL QUALIFIER IN MILE!!

It was a busy weekend in NJ for the Runner's High contingent. Sascah Scott opened up her Indoor campaign with a sizzling 4:43.5 full mile at the Princeton University New Year's classic. This time qualifies her for the USATF Indoor Nationals which will be held in Boston February 24-26th and represents a lifetime best.

Moving outdoors on Sunday the men came to play at the New Jersey State 10 Mile Championships held at Mercer County Park. The results were a thorough trashing of the field led by Scott DeFilippis 1st place victory in 52:07. After taking an early pack through the opening mile in 5minutes, Scott just continued to tick off 5:12 miles and gradually pulled away from everyone. The rest of team followed with Rob in 3rd 53:41(despite a shoelace mishap at mile 8) Billy Hoffman just behind him in 4th 53:53, Rob Zand and Dickson Mercer in 10th and 11th respectively 55:34 and 56:18. Providing the huge insurance policy was our Master star Brian Crowley in 17th with a time of 57:44 and 3rd master overall.

This will conclude the road racing season for 2005 as some switch over to the track and Scott and Billy gear up for the USA National Half Marathon Championships in Houston Texas to be held January 19th 2006.
